League One Postponed Fixtures: Catch-Up Round Preview — March 10th & 11th 2026

Postponed Fixtures Round-up:
Competition: Sky Bet League One
Dates: Tuesday 10th March & Wednesday 11th March
Total Fixtures: 8
Leyton Orient: AWAY vs Stevenage (Tue, 7:45pm)

Why mid-week? These fixtures were originally postponed earlier in the season and are being played now as catch-up games. They span several different original matchdays so won’t appear in the standard GW preview.

Eight League One fixtures postponed from Matchdays 12, 19, 25 and 26 are finally being played across Tuesday and Wednesday night, each carrying very different weight than when they were originally scheduled. The games span a period from October 2025 to February 2026, meaning some fixtures have been transformed by dramatic shifts in form, managerial changes, and table positions — none more so than Stevenage vs Leyton Orient, a play-off contender hosting a side now mired in the relegation zone.

Key Storylines

What’s at Stake Tonight

  • Lincoln’s Unbeaten Run Rolls On: The Imps arrive at Exeter having extended their unbeaten run to 18 games since this fixture was originally scheduled — when it stood at 12. That remarkable form has carried them into automatic promotion contention, and a win at St James Park would further cement their credentials as genuine title challengers.
  • Orient’s Alarming Collapse: Leyton Orient have lost six of their last eight and dropped into the relegation zone — a world away from their position when the Stevenage game was first postponed. The Lamex has been a fortress all season (unbeaten in 16 at home), making this arguably the most daunting fixture remaining on Orient’s survival calendar.
  • Bradford’s Travel Sickness vs Port Vale’s Cup Fairy Tale: Bradford are flying in fourth but have lost five straight away games. Port Vale are bottom of the league yet somehow in the FA Cup quarter-finals. This rescheduled December fixture has become a genuine banana skin — can Bradford finally rediscover their road form against a Vale side running on cup adrenaline?

Match of the Week: Port Vale vs Bradford City

Wednesday 7:45pm

Port Vale vs Bradford City is the pick of the midweek round and arguably the most intriguing rescheduled fixture of them all. Originally a December festive clash between two clubs with different ambitions, the three-month delay has turned it into a genuine six-pointer with entirely new stakes — league-bottom Vale, cup giant-killers supreme, hosting a Bradford side chasing automatic promotion but with five consecutive away defeats weighing heavily. Can Vale channel their Wembley-bound euphoria into a desperately needed league survival win, or will Bradford’s quality finally cut through their travel misery?

Player to Watch

Antoni Sarcevic (Bradford City)

Bradford City’s forward line will be central to everything in this game, and their key attacking threat will be the one Port Vale’s makeshift defence fears most. With Bradford desperate to end their five-game away losing streak on a big occasion, the pressure is on their forwards to deliver where it has recently mattered most on the road. A strong performance here could unlock this tie and quieten questions about Bradford’s travel record at exactly the right moment of the season.

BTP Verdict

Port Vale’s cup heroics have generated enormous momentum and a win would be one of the results of the League One season, but Bradford’s quality in the top four should ultimately prove too much — if they can shake off their away-day demons. Expect a tense, edgy affair with Vale giving everything, but the Bantams to edge it with a goal to spare.

Leyton Orient vs Stevenage — Tue, 7:45pm

The Opposition: Stevenage are one of the division’s most compelling stories right now — unbeaten at home in 16 games and sitting just one win from the play-off places. Their Lamex Stadium has become a genuinely difficult fortress to visit, and they arrive into this game having built steadily since January while Orient have been falling away. Physically direct, well-organised and roared on by a crowd that knows what is at stake, they will be a formidable obstacle.

What We Think: Six defeats in eight is a brutal run of form for Orient and the Lamex is about the worst place they could travel to right now. Stevenage’s home unbeaten record, their play-off hunger, and Orient’s own crisis of confidence all point firmly toward a home win. A point would be a genuine overachievement; Orient fans will be hoping their side can at least show some fight before the survival battle intensifies further.

Leyton Orient Player to Watch

Dominic Ballard — Leyton Orient

Dominic Ballard has been one of Orient’s brightest sparks during a difficult run of form and will need to be the focal point of their attack if the O’s are to take anything from the Lamex. His ability to hold up play and bring others into the game on the counter-attack could be Orient’s best route to goal on a tough night in Hertfordshire.

Final Thoughts

These eight catch-up games could significantly reshape both ends of the League One table in a single midweek. Lincoln’s trip to Exeter is the one to watch in the promotion race, while Stevenage vs Orient has the feel of a relegation six-pointer given how dramatically both sides’ seasons have diverged since January. Port Vale vs Bradford is the romantic fixture of the lot — bottom of the league facing fourth, with Wembley on one mind and automatic promotion on the other.

Data-first football writing

This site is a hobby project run by a former healthcare professional and computing graduate who likes football and data. There's no monetisation agenda, no ads, and no ambition to become the next big football media brand.

What there is: ML-backed match previews, honest accountability when the model gets it wrong, and analysis covering the Championship, League One and WSL that tries to be genuinely data-driven rather than just opinion dressed up in numbers.

Hull City season ticket holder and Leyton Orient follower — both covered on the site, no bias applied.

Posts go up most days during the season. The model's predictions are published before kick-off and the results tracked openly — good weeks and bad ones.
